Scotland Order of the Thistle Breast Star – St Andrew Badge, UK Medal Replica

Faithful reproduction of the Order of the Thistle breast star, the highest Scottish order of chivalry. The design shows the thistle within the motto “Nemo me impune lacessit” (“No one provokes me with impunity”), finished in bright silver with a coloured thistle boss and raised lettering.

  • Materials: alloy and copper

  • Size: about 89 × 98 mm (≈ 3.50 × 3.86 in)

  • Weight: about 100 g (≈ 3.53 oz)

  • Mount: pin-back, ready to wear on sash displays, uniforms, mannequins or frames

A bit of background:
The Order of the Thistle was confirmed by James VII of Scotland (James II of England) in 1687 to honour eminent service to the Scottish crown. After a brief lapse, it was revived by Queen Anne in 1703 and remains limited to the Sovereign and a small number of Knights and Ladies. The thistle emblem and Latin motto have long symbolised Scotland’s royal protection. The breast star became a formal part of the insignia in the 18th century and is worn at state ceremonies with the green riband and badge.

Use & notes:
Crisp multi-layer starburst with clean edges; good depth to the thistle centre. Ideal for collections, historical display, film/prop, cosplay or as a teaching piece. Hand-finished—minor variation in tone is normal.

Important: This is a replica/reproduction insignia for display only. Not an awarded original and carries no official status.
