• Front: Bold yellow “88” over a sunburst, with the ROC emblem Blue Sky with a White Sun above Chinese inscription.

• Reverse: Engraved Chinese inscriptions symbolizing loyalty, discipline, and courage.

The 88th Division became widely recognized during the Battle of Shanghai (1937), where it resisted Japanese assaults and came to symbolize bravery at the outset of the Second Sino-Japanese War.
