Historical background

The “Blue Sky, White Sun” emblem is the national symbol of the Republic of China and appears in the canton of the ROC flag. It is also the centerpiece of the Order of the Blue Sky and White Sun (青天白日勋章), a high military decoration created in the late 1920s for officers who showed outstanding leadership and bravery in wartime.
