A finely crafted full-size breast star inspired by the historic insignia of the Order of Saints Maurice and Lazarus (Ordine dei Santi Maurizio e Lazzaro), one of the great dynastic orders associated with the House of Savoy and the former Kingdom of Italy.
The design features the Order’s distinctive white enamel Cross of St. Maurice, combined with the green Cross of St. Lazarus and mounted upon an elaborate multi-rayed silver-tone breast star.
At the center, the contrasting white, green and gold-tone details create the highly recognizable appearance traditionally associated with the Grand Cross insignia.
The reverse is fitted with a traditional long vertical pin, allowing the piece to be displayed in the same general manner as historic European breast stars.

A Classic Italian Royal Order
The Order of Saints Maurice and Lazarus traces its historic form to 1572, when the Order of St. Maurice was united with the Order of St. Lazarus under the House of Savoy.
Its distinctive green-and-white insignia subsequently became closely associated with the Savoy dynasty and the Kingdom of Italy.
This Grand Cross breast star recreates the striking ceremonial appearance of the historic insignia and makes an impressive addition to collections of Italian royal, European chivalric and historical decorations.
Historical reproduction made for collecting, display and educational purposes. It is not an officially issued decoration.
