Order of the Garter Lesser George – 84.9mm Neck Badge with Blue Ribbon Repro
An impressive collector-made reproduction of the historic Order of the Garter Lesser George, presented in the elegant narrow royal blue neck-ribbon style.
At approximately 84.9 mm in height, this is a substantial large-format Lesser George badge rather than a miniature decoration. The openwork design depicts Saint George on horseback defeating the dragon, surrounded by the celebrated motto:
“Honi Soit Qui Mal Y Pense”
“Shame on him who thinks evil of it”
Traditional Neck-Ribbon Presentation
The Lesser George is most famously associated with the insignia of The Most Noble Order of the Garter. In addition to the broad ceremonial sash presentation, the Lesser George has also historically been associated with a more restrained narrow blue neck-ribbon presentation.
This version recreates that distinctive appearance by pairing the substantial 84.9 mm Lesser George with a finely finished royal blue neck ribbon. The result is elegant, visually balanced, and particularly suitable for collectors who prefer the classic neck-worn presentation over the much larger ceremonial sash.
Large 84.9mm Lesser George
The centerpiece of this set is the large openwork Lesser George badge, carefully formed in solid brass. Its substantial size gives the Saint George and Dragon composition a strong three-dimensional presence, while the ornamental suspension and surrounding Garter border retain the distinctive historic character of the design.

About the Order of the Garter
Founded in 1348 by King Edward III, The Most Noble Order of the Garter is the oldest and most senior order of chivalry in Britain.
Its insignia have become some of the most recognizable symbols of British chivalric tradition. The Lesser George depicts Saint George, patron saint of the Order, mounted on horseback and defeating the dragon within the surrounding Garter.
For centuries, the Order's distinctive royal blue colour and the motto “Honi Soit Qui Mal Y Pense” have remained closely associated with British royal, ceremonial and heraldic history.
Neck Ribbon vs. Ceremonial Sash
This listing is specifically for the neck-ribbon version. It should not be confused with our full ceremonial sash presentation.
The narrow blue ribbon provides a considerably more compact appearance while retaining the impressive 84.9 mm large Lesser George badge. It creates an especially attractive combination for cabinet display and for collectors interested in different historical presentations of Garter insignia.
