Design

The obverse shows an oval central panel with a crowned device and radiant emblem, framed by a decorative border and four stylized floral clusters on the arms. The reverse is plain and shows an intentionally aged, worn surface that gives the badge a convincing vintage appearance.

History – Order of the Precious Crown

The Order of the Precious Crown (宝冠章) was founded in 1888 during the Meiji era as an imperial Japanese order. It was originally awarded mainly to women in Japan and foreign royal or noble ladies, and later also to men for distinguished service to the state and the Imperial Household. The order’s insignia are famous for their rich floral decoration and elaborate, jewelled look.

This piece is a modern silvered-brass replica of the Order of the Precious Crown.
