Imperial Russia Russian medal Medal In memory of the Patriotic War of 1812, A98a

The medal "In Memory of the Patriotic War of 1812" was established in 1813, silver, D = 28 mm., awarded to all military ranks of the army and militia who took part in military actions against the enemy before January 1, 1813, as well as medical ranks and priests who took direct part in the battles. Medals were minted until 1819, a total of about 260,000 pieces were produced. The inscription on the reverse is taken from the Bible (Psalm 113 of David, verse 9): "Not to us, not to us, O Lord, but to your name, give glory."

A fantastic part of military history not to be missed at this low listing price. It would be extremely hard to find a much better example than these medals, medals weight a bit.
