This is a modern replica medal, inspired by the commemorative piece struck by order of Emperor Nicholas II to mark the 100th anniversary of the Battle of Leipzig (1813–1814). The original medal was intended for the lower ranks of regiments to honor the memory of Russia’s role in the defeat of Napoleon’s forces.

The Battle of Leipzig, also known as the Battle of Nations, was one of the largest battles of the Napoleonic Wars and marked a decisive turning point in 1813.

Catalog references for the original medal include Diakov #1555.1 (R3), Peters, and Ilyina #25.

⚠️ Note: This item is a reproduction for collectors, reenactors, educators, and history enthusiasts. It is not an original 1913 medal.
