Details:
This medal commemorates the Russian victory over Napoleon’s invasion of 1812, known as the Patriotic War of 1812. It features the "All-Seeing Eye" symbol surrounded by radiant beams, with the inscription "1812 ГОДЪ" (1812 Year) on the obverse.
The reverse bears the phrase: "НЕ НАМЪ, НЕ НАМЪ, А ИМЕНИ ТВОЕМУ" ("Not unto us, not unto us, but unto Thy Name"), emphasizing gratitude to divine providence.

Background:
The original medal was instituted by Emperor Alexander I to honor all who participated in Russia's defense against Napoleon’s Grand Army.
