Medal "For virtue and success in the sciences" for women's gymnasiums of the Ministry of Public Education (according to Iversen - the medal of the Mariinsky School). St. Petersburg mint, early 1870s. Medalists: persons. Art. - P.A. Meshcheryakov (under the crop image: P. MESHERYAKOV R.), about. Art. - V.V. Nikonov (under the crop of the image: V. NIKONOV R.). Silver; 58.05 g. Diameter 50.9 mm. The safety is excellent; the medal is enclosed in the original box, one of the two locks of the box is damaged. Iversen. Medals of Alexander II. Awards # XIII.1. Analogues (another version of the obl. st. stamp) see Smirnov #  718/a. Dyakov #  670.4-6 (R1). Rare.

 

  

 


A fantastic part of military history not to be missed at this low listing price. It would be extremely hard to find a much better example than these medals, medals weight a bit.
