Description:
Replica of the Order of the Taegeuk, an order of chivalry of the Korean Empire. The order was instituted on April 17, 1900 by Emperor Gwangmu (Gojong), the last King of Joseon and the first Emperor of Korea.

The order was divided into eight classes. The Third Class Neck Badge was awarded to officials who had already received the Fourth Class and continued to serve with distinction for four or more years. It was also conferred upon foreign recipients, with rank and class determined by the imperial government.
