The medal of MARCH 1, 1881 was established by Emperor Alexander III on March 12, 1881 in connection with the assassination attempt on March 1, 1881, as a result of which Alexander II died. Medals were awarded to persons who were somehow connected with the tragic events. On the front side there is an inscription MARCH 1, 1881, on the reverse side there is the monogram of Alexander II, at the top there is a crown. Medals were minted in St. Petersburg from silver in the amount of 200 pieces.
A fantastic part of military history not to be missed at this low listing price. It would be extremely hard to find a much better example than these medals, medals weight a bit.
