The medal was established by the autocrat Catherine II on August 21, 1789, in honor of the battle of Rochensalm on August 13, 1789. In this naval battle, the Russian fleet completely defeated and sank the Swedish squadron. Medals were awarded to all participants in the battle.
A fantastic part of military history not to be missed at this low listing price. It would be extremely hard to find a much better example than these medals
