This is a replica of the Gold Croix de Guerre 1914–1918 with Diamonds, originally awarded to Marshal Ferdinand Foch, Supreme Allied Commander during World War I. The original decoration is preserved in the Museum of the Legion of Honor in Paris.
About Marshal Ferdinand Foch (1851–1929):
He was a leading French military commander and strategist, credited with a decisive role in the First Battle of the Marne in 1914. In 1918, he became Supreme Allied Commander, coordinating Allied forces during the final campaigns of World War I.
